Bedford Post Inn Cafe
D. played hooky today and we drove up to the Bedford Post Inn (aka Richard Gere's place). Okay, so we had to wait 15 minutes for a table at the cafe. Off we went to the Perennial Garden (treesinyouryard.com) to pick up some organic seeds. By the time we returned, the lunch rush was over and we sat in a quiet corner. D. ordered the beet salad and the farm fresh egg with creamy polenta. I had the veal (I know, I know) with creamy polenta and Gen Mai Cha tea. All very good. But desert...D. ordered a strawberry rhubarb bar. Do not miss it.

Yellow Monkey and Aer Yoga
I tend to listen to A., my cousin's new wife, when it comes to food. She runs Murray's Cheese Shop's web site and is a serious foodie. So, when she told me that her brother F. runs an organic cafe in Cross River, I rounded up two friends and headed North. The cafe is part of Aer Yoga, a studio, shop and cafe (aeryoga.com). We had a yummy zucchini soup, cheese from Sprout Creek Farm (Batch 35, again), Sencha tea and vege burgers. We wandered over to Yellow Monkey Antiques (yellowmonkey.com) and shopped the incredible finds. We particulalry loved the collection of long, wood famer's tables.

Antique Fair
Looking forward to the antique fair at Mamaroneck High School this weekend (March 8-9, 10am-5pm)...as long as they wash off the bathroom walls.

Blue Hill Cafe at Stone Barns
Hiked the trails, saw some cows and stopped off at the cafe for a green tea (oolong, who knew?) and brownie. Enjoyed the weather and scenery so much, forgot to take one photo, and too bad because D. took Z. in the sling for the first time and it was adorable. It was a family affair as my sister and brother-in-law, their two kids, my father and his girlfriend all showed up.
